Kiwi Young Leaders: Projects

The focus of Kiwi Young Leaders is to give members hands on experience participating in, organising, leading and creating projects and activities, while they are in Korea.  These projects will give Kiwi Young Leaders members an edge over others and provide New Zealand with a future pool of individuals experienced in Korea.

The objective of Kiwi Young Leaders’ Projects is to support members career goals. Therefore Kiwi Young Leaders will help members propose and manage projects tailored to their career goals.

If you have an idea for a project and would like some assistance exploring the idea then please email kiwi.young.leaders@gmail.com

Proposed Projects

  1. Managing Kiwi Young Leaders
  2. Import Case Studies
  3. Creating a New Zealand English Teachers Network
  4. Internships
  5. Kiwis in Korea Interview Series
  6. Helping the promotion of Rugby in Korea

  • Kiwi Young Leaders

Kiwi Young Leaders is the first hands on project for Kiwi Young Leaders  members.

Managing Kiwi Young Leaders involves forming relationships with a wide range of organisations and individuals both in Korea and without. It requires advertising the initiative through various means and  media, as well as developing and implementing promotional plans.

At Kiwi Chamber events Kiwi Young Leaders will be tasked with ensuring new members are made to feel welcome and included and, most importantly, introducing new members to leading members of the New Zealand-Korea business network. This will require forming relationships with those people.

  • Import Case Study

How many people in Korea have thought about importing something?

New Zealand faces a range of issues when importing into Korea. Kiwi Young Leaders would like to make members aware of those issues and teach them the basics of importing into Korea (from New Zealand).

Kiwi Young Leaders can use it’s resources and contacts to explore how someone could import something into Korea. What is required? What are the customs regulations? What do you need from the government?…everything a young entrepreneur with a great idea might need to know.

If you are the entrepreneurial type then this information will help you turn your thoughts into action. If you return to New Zealand there could be a number of companies interested in your experience and what you learned.

  • New Zealand English Teachers Network

There are a large amount of New Zealand English teachers in Korea and they lack a support network of Kiwis, who can share information, share contacts and share their experience.

Kiwi Young Leaders believes New Zealand English teachers would benefit from a dedicated network.  Kiwi Young Leaders would facilitate the forming of this network and it’s initial activities.

  • Internships

The Kiwi Young Leaders will be opening a dialog with various organisations regarding setting up internships in the future.

We believe New Zealand needs young leaders in Korea, working inside organisations and experiencing the realities of business here. That is why we have set up the Kiwi Young Leaders and internship creation is a natural extension of this initiative.

  • Kiwis in Korea Interview Series

New Zealanders in Korea and people in New Zealand would benefit from hearing about fellow Kiwis experiences in Korea.

The Kiwi Young Leaders proposes a “Kiwis in Korea Interview Series”, exposing people back home in New Zealand to the realities of living and working in Korea.

Korea is not a scary place and we believe that New Zealand exporters shouldn’t be afraid of exploring Korea and it’s opportunities. This interview series is one part of a larger strategy of exposing Korea to New Zealand.

  • Rugby in Korea

Rugby in Korea is already organised and managed by people like us. People in Korea working or studying and in their part time they are working to promote rugby throughout Korea, manage tournaments, organise clubs and plan events.

The Kiwi Young Leaders believes these people deserve some help. Check out the links below for more information about Rugby in Korea.
