A message from our Patron

Mann_Richard001-148x228

It is an honour for me to serve as patron of the Kiwi Chamber.

The Kiwi Chamber has enjoyed a highly successful inaugural year, building up an active organisation which represents companies and individuals with an interest in the Korea-New Zealand trade and economic relationship.   2010 promises to be another year of successful events and activities.

I thank the Chamber’s board, members and sponsors for your support.

During the Chamber’s first year, we have seen some exciting developments in the Korea-New Zealand relationship.  The visit of President Lee Myung-bak to New Zealand and his summit meeting with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, have expanded and introduced new areas of bilateral cooperation, such as in green growth, science and technology (including IT), education and agriculture.  In 2010 we expect high level government visits to Korea to further this cooperation.

Negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement are underway.  We hope this agreement will encourage greater trade and investment flows between Korea and New Zealand, and establish an enabling framework for our future economic engagement.

The Kiwi Chamber has an important role in supporting our trade and business relationship with Korea.  In turn, we in the New Zealand Embassy and NZ Trade and Enterprise are very happy to fully support the Chamber.

Business and government representatives can achieve much together in promoting New Zealand in Korea.

Kachi kapshida – let’s go forward together.

H.E. Richard Mann
Ambassador

Message from the Chairman

Les_Edwards

Our Mission: “The Kiwi Chamber provides assistance to its Members and associated companies, organisations or individuals with an interest in the Korea – New Zealand business and trade relationship, by creating support networks that enable them to pursue their commercial interests in either country.”

I warmly welcome all members and hope you will get good value from this directory and the various events and services that we will provide.

Founded in November 2008, The Kiwi Chamber has come a long way in a short space of time. This is due in large part to a dedicated and active group of individuals who get behind our endeavours, be they business forums, special events or social “hui”. Your continued support and contribution in 2010 will be gratefully appreciated by our members.

Please encourage Korean business people that you meet, with ties to New Zealand, to join our Chamber, as well as those New Zealanders you meet who have yet to do so.

I wish to thank our Patron and Ambassador, H.E. Richard Mann, and the staff of the NZ Embassy and NZ Trade & Enterprise for their full support of our Chamber and in helping us to continue to achieve our mission.

Thank you also to those members serving on our Board of Directors and Advisors who give up so much of their time to contribute ideas and organize events to the benefit of all members.

The Chamber very much appreciates our Gold and Silver Sponsors for 2010. These companies are acknowledged within this website directory. Your financial contribution and support really enables our Chamber to provide events and services that are beneficial to our membership and, in many instances, the wider business community as a whole.

As members, your active participation at our business and social events will help us to lift the profile of New Zealand, our Chamber and the Free Trade Agreement between Korea and New Zealand.
