As momentum builds for the Sonjukwon programme initiated by the Kiwi Chamber and ANZ (generously supported bythe Hyatt and the New Zealand Embassy) we found ourselves back with more spuds early this April.
With the Songjukwon garden prepped and ready (no buckets this time!) the team gathered at the care centre and listened to a presentation about the humble spud, finding out there are many different spuds for all sorts of different occasions!
We were even treated to two presentations in English from a couple of the Songjukwon students.
From there it was time to get hands dirty under the guidance of our garden expert. As the students got stuck in hoes, spuds, fertiliser and soil flew. When the soil settled we looked out on nice mounds of soil before heading upstairs for a debrief, pizza and chicken.
Watch this space for the harvest in June!
